Frequently Asked Questions...

We get that as parents or future students of Martial Arts, you are probably going to have a lot of questions. Well we decided to create a list of our most frequently asked questions to try and help.

Let's take a look

What age can my child start martial arts classes?

We have classes for everyone from the age of 3+ starting in our Dragon Tot session. No matter what the age, we have something for you or your child.

What style of martial arts is best for beginners?

We teach Traditional Karate, Kickboxing, Freestyle Martial Arts and MMA. All of our classes are suitable for beginners and our expert team of Instructors are on hand to help all new starters feel part of the class and not feel lost or left out.

Do I or my child need any prior experience or fitness level to join?

Not at all, we ill help you learn and grow no matter what your starting level of experience or fitness is. Our goal is to help you become better no matter where you start from.

What should we wear to the first class?

For your first class please wear something comfortable and easy to move in. We recommend not wearing jeans as these are way too restrictive.

How much do classes cost, and are there membership fees?

We have NO MEMBERSHIP FEES and our class fees are dependant on your class type and package. But our classes cost start from £8 per session.

Is martial arts safe for children?

Absolutely YES! As long as it is taught properly, with all safety equipment, policies and procedures in place it is perfect for children and safe too. Ensure any school you select has fully qualified instructors, with certified and verified Black Belts. They must have all insurance policies in place as well as full DBS Enhanced Checks completed. Also where possible, the Safeguarding Code for Martial Arts recognition is an added plus too.

How often should my child attend classes?

It is recommended that all beginners attend 1 to 2 times a week with an increase of 2 to 3 times a week for intermediates and advanced students. Due to the amount of physical and mental development they undergo, the more time they practice, the better they will become.

What equipment is needed and when?

To start with just yourself or your child. But should you or your child choose to continue, the first step will be a uniform. These are available from our online store and will be available for collection in your class. As time progresses there will be Protective Equipment requirements but these are different depending on the style being studied and your instructor will be happy to discuss this with you.

Can martial arts help with confidence, behaviour or focus?

Absolutely, actually most people start Martial Arts in todays world for these key pillars of life in the first place.

We hope this helps, but if you have any other questions please just let us know and we will be more than happy to help.
