From Dragon Tots to the Competition Squad: Lizzy’s KRMA Journey
Every martial arts journey develops differently.
For Lizzy, that journey began when she joined KRMA’s Dragon Tots programme at just three years old.
At the time, her parents hoped martial arts might help her improve her focus and coordination.
What followed became much bigger than that.
Starting with the Basics
Dragon Tots is designed to introduce younger children to martial arts through structured, age-appropriate training.
At that age, progress is not simply about learning techniques. Confidence, listening, coordination, participation and becoming comfortable in a class environment all matter.
Lizzy began developing those foundations through regular training.
Growing in Confidence
As Lizzy progressed, her confidence developed alongside her martial arts ability.
Her family saw her become increasingly comfortable performing in front of other people and taking on new challenges.
That development eventually opened further opportunities within KRMA.
Moving Beyond Dragon Tots
Lizzy went on to become involved with KRMA’s Demo Team and Competition Squad.
It is a good example of how a child’s martial arts journey can evolve over time.
Someone who initially joins simply to improve coordination or confidence may discover interests and abilities they did not know they had.
A Family Journey
Lizzy’s experience also became part of a wider family connection with KRMA, with her younger brother later joining too.
Her parents summed up the experience by saying:
“KRMA has given our daughter more than just martial arts. It’s helped her thrive in every way.”
That is the part of student development that matters most to us.
Competition and performance can be exciting parts of martial arts, but the bigger goal is helping students grow into confident, capable young people.
Lizzy’s journey began at three years old with Dragon Tots.
Where that journey ultimately leads is still being written.
